Oyster collaborates with female entrepreneurs
Amanda Jacobson, Vice President of Partnerships and Business
Development at Oyster , is convinced that innovation and the fight
for women's rights go hand in hand:
As we are creating something new at Oyster, it is a
privilege to break the rules . We have a responsibility to design
a product that respects our customers and internal policies that respect our
team and allies, regardless of their gender. We seek to revolutionise in
every facet of the business to be an example of a new generation that understands
and values equity.
Oyster is part of the solution for one of the great
challenges that women entrepreneurs face: giving us access to financial
products tailored to our project or company.
We decided to speak more calmly and ask Karla Paniagua for her testimony, so that she can tell us about the effect that these initiatives have on the mindset of women entrepreneurs. Karla is an enterprising woman who works as a workshop assistant at Dalia Empower's Women for Board. techqueer
Women want to undertake
The OEAP report also indicates that the motivations that women
in Mexico have to undertake have changed. Before, we women threw ourselves
out of necessity and because we did not find in our work the opportunities to
grow or the flexibility that we were looking for.
However, now 81% of the Mexican women who start do so for the
simple reason that we believe we are capable of creating and developing a
company. This means that, more in addition more, women
are no longer self-employed out of necessity , but rather
we aspire to found scalable businesses because we want to and can. Even
almost half of the Mexican women consider that entrepreneurship is a good
option for professional life and for development.
Women want to undertake, we only require some specific tools and
support to face the obstacles.
